This idea pad is some what whack…I could not compare this thing to my ipad, I use my ipad for entertainment purposes, like watching movies and episodes, reading the morning paper, and books.. In the end, it’s like a portable DVD player,. Which is worth around 200, plus a kindle which is around 150 and an iPod, wich is around 150, and Internet browsing wichis better than a netbook wich is around 300 bucks…

This tablet is continuing the fight the IBM PC 5150* started
*For those of you who don’t know, the IBM 5150 was the first PC by the “Modern” definition of PC, and it competed with the Apple II line, and eventually the earliest Macs. Also, note that i have no problem with apple — their gadgets simply aren’t the droids i’m looking for — but rather it’s that turtleneck wearing snobby asshole in charge of apple i have a problem with.

fail! its running windows amd i bet its twice the weight if not more than an ipad. An ipad doesnt try to be a laptop. This is just a touch screen laptop. The selling point of ipad is the apps.

@fdsfjsdfjjl you pretty much said most of what was on my mind. i’m not really a fan of the iPad, i think it needs more power and function before it can be useful. however, i think an iPad or one of the many upcoming Android tablets will be more successful and more practical to use since their OS will be specific for touch screen devices, not Windows with touch screen capabilities tacked on. thats why Windows Mobile is failing.

the battery life is worse unless you undoubtably pay more
the screen is worse and it doesn’t rotate when you turn it different directions
the keyboard looks cheap and it’s there whether you like it or not
and it runs windows software

This guy has a massive face. Also is suspect a slight bias towards this company. But who knows. The device isn’t exactly as sexy as the ipad. I’m not sure i’m sold on this one.

Funny, this is exactly the kind of device which does nothing well. The touch control experience is going to be mediocre, everything else…..well just like on your regular pc, only much smaller, slower, crammed, overall bad experience. Ipad is not pretending to be something it’s not, a full fledged computer. These small computers are trying to be notebooks – and failing so hard . I would pick ipad for movie watching or web browsing any day over an ugly thing like this, sorry.
